Halmahera, The Largest Islands With White Sandy Beaches In Maluku – The remote Halmahera island, also called Gilolo or Jailolo, is most important island in Maluku (the Moluccas), K shaped almost like a miniature Sulawesi. With lily white sandy beaches, unspoiled woods and the impressive Mt Mamuya in the distance, this island offers stunning vistum. This is a rugged and mountainous landscape and much of small island developing is still covered in forest.
The most well known pleasures on small island developing involve exploring its beautiful irrigates. Channel surf at Dorume Beach, known for its huge movements, especially in December; which is the best time for surfers to call. Along with it’s big surf, the allure here is the very fine sand of the sea that seem to glint in the sun as they contain metallic grains.Take in the vistum at the nonviolent Talaga Biru, which literally conveys Blue Lake. Bemo (a motorized becak/ rickshaw), mikrolet (blue blooded minibuses), bentor (motorbike driven vehicle), ojek, and bcak are all common land transportation on Halmahera Island.
There are a number of ways to reach Halmahera Island. Halmahera does not have any sizeable airports. Most air traffic “re coming” the provincial asset airport of Sultan Babullah Airport on Ternate Island. You can take a short hop from here to Galela Airport on Halmahera Island near Tobelo.
There are cruise liners that tour Halmahera. PELNI performs various alternatives cruise to Ternate twice a month. These liners will transit in various townships such as Semarang (Central Java), Surabaya (East Java), Makasar (South Sulawesi) and Bitung (North Sulawesi). You can continue your outing by speedboat to Kota Baru for about 45 minutes, or you can get on a ferrying from Bastiong Ferry Harbor, which will make two hours. Both of them will produce you to Sofifi (Halmahera).
